Directions
- Step 1 In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, orange zest and cardamom. Set aside.
- Step 2 On a floured surface, roll out the brioche dough to a 12″X16″ rectangle.
- Step 3 Sprinkle entire surface of dough with sugar mixture.
- Step 4 Starting at a long end, roll the dough up tightly and pinch dough together to seal the seam (think cinnamon rolls.)
- Step 5 Trim the ends to create an even log.
- Step 6 Cut into 8 even pieces.
- Step 7 Place evenly spaced on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Step 8 Cover loosely with plastic wrap and set in a warm place to rise until doubled in size, about 2-2 1/2 hours.
- Step 9 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Step 10 Bake risen rolls for about 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown. Start checking them around 17 minutes as ovens vary in temperature.
- Step 11 While the rolls are baking, make the icing. In a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar, water, and vanilla extract and whisk until completely smooth.
- Step 12 Once the rolls come out of the oven, carefully brush them all over with the glaze using a pastry brush.
- Step 13 Let cool for about 10 minutes.
